Sales and Savings

Our first loans have been distributed, which means our program is officially up and running! Our first two loan recipients were Purismo and Catalino. Both are using the loans to help fund sari-sari stores, which are like a small convenience stores. They gave an update about their businesses at the most recent peer group meeting.

Purisimo said that his income was doubled after his purchase of additional items for his store. He was also able to buy a good second hand refrigerator that helped increase his sales since his store is located near the fish port area and many fish vendors are buying his homemade ice.

Catalino also expressed his gratefulness for the loan especially that it has minimal interest. The variety of goods sold at the store attracted more customers, especially the rice commodity which is very saleable. He can now buy more sacks of rice because of the additional capital.

The peer group also decided to pay an additional P25.35 with each payment to serve as their weekly savings to start their capital build up.

Please pray that our first two loan recipients continue to have success in their businesses!
